I feel like I should have written this closer to Mackenzie’s birthday (at the end of July), when all of those “oh my gosh, my sweet baby girl is growing up so fast” emotions were going crazy. They’re still there, but I’m past feeling the tears coming on when I think about it or talk about it. It is so surreal to me that I’m the mother at all, and to have these two walking, talking, opinionated, maniacs in my house (they are so much like their father, ha!) – it blows my mind!
You may remember back in October when we went to Atlanta for Laura and Jeremy’s wedding. This time it was Beth & Josh’s turn to tie the knot. I’d been stressing about the dates ever since mid-November when we found out that Mackenzie’s first dance recital was going to be one of the first two weekends in June. I kept my fingers crossed that it wouldn’t be June 5th. It was, of course.
Right around this time nine years ago, this is what I was doing..
A few weeks ago, Braden’s Cub Scout pack held their annual Pinewood Derby and Braden’s car, the Red and Blue Racer, won second place for the Tiger Cubs. Since he placed in his den, he was invited to race at the district level, along with the first and third place finishers from his den. That race was held on March 21st at the Orange Park Mall and included Cub Scouts from all over our county.
I want to apologize for the back-to-back giveaway posts. The last thing I want is for my blog to be one big ad, but when it involves a giveaway for you guys, I have a really hard time saying no! I love when I get the opportunity to give things away!
This was one of those rare weekends where it felt like it lasted longer than two days. A big part of that is probably because we pretty much stayed home all day Sunday, which is my least favorite weekend thing-to-do, but the kids wanted to do it so we did!
Okay, rewind a bit! Since we spent nearly three weeks home over the Christmas, I have several random pictures from the rest of our break that make me smile but aren’t exactly worthy of their own post. If you’re here to read about running, you probably want to skip over this one. If you like to see pictures of the cutest kids ever (okay maybe I’m a wee bit biased..) they are, each with a quick sentence.
I hope y’all had a great Halloween weekend! Friday night was busy, as expected, but the rest of our weekend was very relaxing — definitely a welcome change from our normal weekends where we’re running all over the place!
Well hello there strangers! It’s been a while. Things have been busy around here and I haven’t had a chance to sit down and write. I’m going to try to catch y’all up on the big things that have been going on now so this may be a little long. I promise lots of pictures and not too much yacking from me though! Ready?
